Academic means that this space is primarily for educational purposes. Both the discord and the events are intended as a space to share knowledge and better one's understanding, not find play partners or dates.
Safety-Oriented means that we focus on safety in our classes and may limit what risks we can and teach practices we think are best for safety of all practitioners.
Accessible means we aim to make make events physically and financially usable and sensible for attendees. We offer low-cost events, with instructors and facilitators volunteering their time, and many classes being produced at cost ($10 or less).
Inclusive means that education in Kink Practice includes various roles, kinks, and demographics. We believe that all parties benefit from education and safety instruction. We aim to broaden and diversify the bodies and examples used in education. We ask our instructors to be cognizant of and speak about how a kink may differently impact a person based on gender, race, age, body size, physical ability, and other descriptors. We aim for language which is representative of the diversity of kink and our community.
Evolving recognizes the importance of re-evaluating, updating, changing and doing better as we learn. KP has gone through several phases, and it is expected there will be several more. We seek to improve ourselves, our policies, and our events. Practice as a space is growing and learning, just like its hosts, and just like its attendees.
